Trial edition of the IWA based Xtralogic RDP client for Chrome available for beta testing

Installing the app:

  • On managed devices (devices enrolled in the Google Workspace), the app installation can be configured in the Google Workspace Admin console.
    • Go to the Users & browsers tab in Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions.
    • Select a desired organizational unit.
    • Click the yellow floating add (+) button, then “Add an Isolated Web App” button (square in a square icon). This will open a dialog for you to enter Web bundle ID and update manifest URL. Web bundle ID for the app is q2oy25prsvhmxocjxs2badhyi3uw7vqhrupfn66iflserug4st6qaaic, update manifest URL is https://www.xtralogic.com/wp-content/uploads/xtrchromerd-update-manifest.json.
    • After the app added, set its “Installation policy” to “Force install”. It is important to click the “SAVE” button after that.
  • On un-managed and managed devices, the app can also be installed individually.
    • Enable chrome://flags/#enable-isolated-web-app-dev-mode flag
    • On un-managed devices also enable chrome://flags/#enable-isolated-web-app-unmanaged-install flag
    • Go to chrome://web-app-internals/ and install the app using “Install IWA from Update Manifest”. The update manifest URL is https://www.xtralogic.com/wp-content/uploads/xtrchromerd-update-manifest.json.
    • The app is updated automatically, when new versions are published. The update occurs when the app is restarted, unless “Pin to Version” is specified. The update options for an installed app can be managed at chrome://web-app-internals/.

If you are going to use multi monitor mode, go to chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=isolated-app://q2oy25prsvhmxocjxs2badhyi3uw7vqhrupfn66iflserug4st6qaaic and allow “Automatic full screen” and “Pop-ups and redirection” permissions.

On managed devices, the IWA app can be configured from the Google Workspace admin console using the same JSON configuration as the current Chrome app. But it has to be done indirectly, using our new Xtralogic Enterprise Provider Chrome extension available at https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/xtralogic-enterprise-prov/agjnbnikgbndfmjcojfmikmbimmhomlb?authuser=0&hl=en. Install the extension in the Google Workspace admin console and configure it with the same JSON configuration as used for the current Chrome app. The extension id is agjnbnikgbndfmjcojfmikmbimmhomlb. For details on the configuration options see “App configuration on managed Chrome devices” at https://www.xtralogic.com/remote-desktop-client-for-chrome-documentation/. The extension has to be force installed. The extension will get the configuration and provide it to the IWA app.
