Configuring VNC on Windows

Xtralogic Remote desktop client is compatible with all RFB protocol compliant VNC servers. Here we provide here instructions for TightVNC only, but fill free to use your favorite VNC server.

Download a free copy of TightVNC. Run the installation package. Choose Typical setup type. Accept the default settings for TightVNC service configuration and Windows Firewall configuration (all enabled). Make sure that you set the Password for Remote Access and and Administrative password.

Right click on the TihgtVNC icon in the notification area of the taskbar and select Configuration in the menu. On the Access Control tab make sure the Allow loopback connections checkbox is marked. This is necessary for the RDC Companion proper operation.
